God is giving me what I prayed for. When I first started college 19 years ago, my thoughts were to get a degree any degree. In the event that I needed to support myself, I wanted to be able to afford to do so. My 19 year old self thought college was the best way to do that, so I went to school online. BUT I knew I wanted to stay home and raise my children at home. I never wanted to "use" my degree unless I could find a way to work from home. After taking so many online classes, I decided that begin an online adjunct and teaching online would be perfect for me. I could have a decent income AND most importantly I would be there for my family. So I set out...
I had a baby, an in-home daycare, and a newly diagnosed chronically ill husband. I began school in 2002 and finished with my masters in 2010. In between I had 5 children, lost my father, had a cardiac baby, surgeries, miscarriages, homeschooling, moves, in-home day care, etc. But God was FAITHFUL. He answered my plea. Now, I work from home, not as an adjunct but as an ESL teacher. In every way I can think of, it's even better than being an adjunct. I have the best hours. I'm done before 9am. I 100% make my own schedule. I don't have to grade. I don't have a boss. I don't have coworkers. I am here with my family daily. Thank you God.
