Who Are We?

By Heart of Wisdom Academy - Thursday, August 30, 2012

This is me (29). My daughter took this picture of me while we were in the waiting room at the doctor's office. I love being a follower of Jesus and leading my little ones to Him!! I absolutely adore my husband and love making a home with him and our many children.I am passionate about discipleship, building a godly marriage, homeschooling, child-training, organizing, reading, and learning new things. I am an introvert at heart. I'm not night person, but I am a morning person. I'm an aspiring vegetarian. I dislike cooking and shopping. I love thrift stores. I love my Kindle. I love the Amish and Little House on the Prairie. I'm learning Spanish. I love worshipping on the guitar. Everyday I am living the life I always wanted!!

Kyle(10) is a terrific son, and a very typical first born. He is very protective, loving, kind, and trustworthy. He is very nurturing and patient with his siblings. He is respectful and mature for his age. He is really my right-hand man. He is passionate about nerf guns and Christian rap. He likes writing songs, and listening to music. He's a great basketball player. He is articulate and smart. He is obedient and quiet in public.
Kaden (7) is the most sincere child I've ever met. He is passionate about honesty. He is a tattle-tale, but he'll always tell on himself too. He is obsessed with justice and fairness. He is passionate about being a doctor. He likes to play surgery games and read doctor books. He's quirky. He just recently stopped consistently putting his shirt, pants, and underwear on backwards. His shoes are usually on the wrong feet. He sleeps with his eyes open and reads with his eyes closed. Go figure. He is tender and compassionate. He is friendly and has good manners. He has a slight lisp and goes to speech therapy. Otherwise he and Kyle are the healthiest children. He is fun to be around and very content.
This is Kason's (3) intimidating face! I keep trying to tell him that children don't intimidate me, but he keeps trying anyway:-) He was born with two heart defects(coarctation of the aorta and atrial septal defect)He was in heart failure and very sick for about two years. He has had two heart surgeries and numerous medical procedures and hospitalizations. He has grown gradually stronger both physically willfully. All of our children were quite mannerly and docile until we had Kason. He is so darn cute and mischevious. Because of his illness his child-training started later in life, but he's finally caught up.He makes us laugh, like you wouldn't believe and I can't describe how much I love him. He is extremely respectful, and outgoing. He loves to read more than any of the other children. He loves to do school. He doesn't like TV, but his favorite movie is Tangled. He is a huge daddy's boy. He loves to cuddle. He really increased our love for children in an incredible way. We have loved every minute with him.

Peyton (7) is my wonderful sweet girl. She loves babies and changing clothes all day. She has a great imagination. She likes worms and bugs. She likes to decorate her room. She is very talkative and outgoing. She is sweet and gentle. She is respectful and courteous. She puts others before herself. She is motherly and plays house most often. She looks forward to getting married and having babies. She likes doing school. She doesn't like a lot of meat. She's very good at basketball and sweeping the kitchen. She struggles with learning but has a great spirit. She likes to cook. She is the girl I always wanted and I am so thankful to be her mommy. I tell her all the time how special she is to me. I love reading with her. She likes listening to stories and sitting on my lap. She likes being a twin. When she grows up she aspires to be a "beautiful woman".

Last but not least is Kendal (1). We tell Kendal everyday how glad we are that he is in our family. The fifth child is just as treasured as the first, second, third, and fourth; maybe more because by now we really knew about the frailty and sanctity of life. By now we know how quickly time passes. He is so cute and full of fire!! He has a shrill, ear-piercing scream. He doesn't like the word "no". He doesn't like going to nursery. He loves to read. He doesn't like TV. He loves Starfall. He thinks he's a big boy. He talks a lot. He loves being outside. He throws fits. This is the first child we've had that really likes to throw fits. He can be cranky and disgruntled. He is so spoiled, he's still trying to figure out that life really isn't about him. He loves string cheese and taking walks and riding bikes. He is always ready for a hug and will lay with you in bed forever. He gives sweet kisses and endearing hugs. He likes to write with pencils. He dances. He likes to count. He is very gentle and tender with babies. We are so happy that he is in our family.
