"We help our children present themselves to the world when we keep them clean and well-groomed. This is a courtesy to our children, and it is a courtesy to others. It is much more enjoyable to talk to a child who has a clean, shiny face, than a child with a dirty nose. This is simply the way we are made. We are honoring them when we wash their faces. Mothers should dress their children appropriately and teach them that dressing improperly can be discourteous.
