- Monday: Well I don't have much to report this week. We had mostly half days of school. On Monday I had, what some would call, a nervous breakdown! I've been fighting a moth infestation in my house for a couple of months, and I finally surrendered in anguish and tears. When the exterminator walked through the door, let's just say I might have mistaken him for an angel, so great was my elation!!
- Tuesday: We had our co op. Trying to get 6 kids out of the door and to co op by 10:00 feels like an Olympic event. What on earth would I do if they had to be at school as early as 7? I'm too lazy to send my kids to public school! After co-op we ate and then did, reading, math, and Spanish. Then I took the kids to soccer practice
- Wednesday: Our only full day this week. We did Geography. I have finished teaching all the countries in South and Central America, and I introduced Africa today. Our goal is to learn the name and locations of all the countries in the world. They take practice quizzes here. Kyle and Kaden are at 100%. Peyton and Kason are at about 80% Kendal knows all the names, just not all their exact locations. They also named the states on the southern border of the United States, and all the states on northern border of the United States. We watched a documentary of Netflix called Wildest Latin America. Kaden and Peyton did typing. All kids did their reading and Math. Kyle wrote his current event.
- Thursday: I had appointments all day. The kids had fall cleaning with daddy. They cleaned fireplace bricks, windows, blinds, floors, walls, etc. One of my appointments was to meet with an educational therapist about how to increase intelligence. My twins are "borderline". I was interested in what their program could to to help increase their cognition. But with the price tag hovering around $800 a month, that program is out of the question! We went out to lunch as a family and took my MIL to the doctor.
- Friday: Today was a full day of school
- We didn't do our science and history memory work this week.
This is surgery...Specifically brain surgery.

So we were actually studying the excretory system this week. I looked up kidney transplant surgery on You Tube, We found a few and watched them, but I couldn't resist showing him this brain surgery in HD. Talk about feeling like you are right there!!!!
This little ones were fascinated. Peyton is the only one who didn't watch, she hates blood.
We totally felt like we were there.
So we were supposed to go the pumpkin patch on a field trip. But I accidentally left my car door opened for 2 days, so the battery was dead, so we couldn't go...
But, we made it up for it, by coming to the Virginia Living Museum

This week the Digestive System!!
Peyton placing the stomach, liver, small and large intestines onto our human body flannel board.
Then we simulated the digestive system. The bowl is our mouth and we put bread in it. We used knives to simulated our teeth crunching the bread.
We added water for saliva and some milk as our beverage

He's been doing this same card for months. But I still have him do it, so that he can recognize these words anywhere, not just on the card.

- All kids continued their individual reading and math lessons on schedule
- All learned about the digestive system and the Purchase of Louisiana
- All learned about Davy Crockett and the Alamo
- This week we watched Davy Crockett and The Magic School Bus-Digestive System
- We read a lot. We have 50 books out from the library
- We are still studying out Proverbs, very slowly and thoroughly using the commentary from LetGodBeTrue Life Changing resources!!!!!! 1 verse a day.
- The kids continue to have their personal quiet times with God. The younger kids all use Rod and Staff Bible Readers on their levels and Kyle uses the Bible and sometimes devotion books. Sometimes my non readers use a kids Bible app.
We do Geography altogether. We are learning the names and locations of the all the states. Using Geography Songs. We have done the Southern Border now we're doing the Northern Border.

Talking Tom is a fun little app. He repeats whatever you say.
My Kindergartner can easily get through a page of words by reading to Talking Tom.
- This was a short week, because we went away for the weekend to an awesome church conference.
- It really takes at least 2 days to fully pack!
- We did learn our history and science sentences
- Everyone continued in their individual studies
- We started to learn how to draw Mount Vernon and George Washington using Draw Write Now 5 It was a lot of fun
This week we learned three parts of the nervous system. We made brain cupcakes. Watched a video: here I took the white icing and added 2 drops of red food coloring and 1 drop of green to give the brain a pale color

- We finished memorizing the names and locations of all the countries in South America and started on Central America
- All kids started back with Spanish this week. Rosetta Stone and Duolingo.
- Older kids continued with typing practice
- Everyone worked on their level in math and reading
- Kyle managed his time much better this week. Everything was turned in on time.
- Kyle started Geometry this week on IXL. It was challenging, but he finished all his assignments on time
- Kyle finished his paper on the Lost Colony this week and wrote a cinquain to go with it.
- We all learned about the Declaration of Independence
- Several kids are dealing with asthma this week.
- We had soccer practice and games
- These are some highlights from the week, everything else is written in my planner/syllabus which I can't wait to share soon.
