Gathering At the Well

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:3-5

Today’s Questions:

When you read the Scripture found in Titus 2: 2-5, how do you see this playing out in your own life?
I am grateful that I worship at a church that holds firmly to the biblical model of teaching. In our church we call them discipleship partners, mentors, one another relationships, or accountability partners. No matter the name, the spirit of Titus 2 is being lived out zealously. I am most grateful for my first discipleship partner. When I was newly married she truly stuck in there with me and taught me what it means to be a godly wife and mother. She still teaches me today and I count her as one of my dearest friends. More than the words she says, it is the Godly life that she lives that speaks so loudly. She could truly say, “Imitate me, as I imitate Christ”.

What are your areas of strength?
I desire to be wholeheartedly devoted to God and I make myself a student of my husband and children.

What are your areas of weakness?
I have a need to be more sober and discreet. I tend to be sarcastic. It’s a character I don’t like.

If you could set some sort of goal in relation to this Scripture, what would it be?
To not grow weary in doing good. For the rest of my life I’ll be applying this scripture and I never want to tire of it.
