Sweet-Heart Day

For the last 2 weeks I've been wanting to write about my Valentine, but I've been making myself wait until today so I would have something to write on Valentine's Day. 14 Things I LOVE about my Valentine:(no particular order)

1) He loves me like I am flawless. He daily is teaching me the meaning of unconditional love. He doesn't hold anything against me, he doesn't throw my faults in my face, he doesn't treat me differently when I sin against him, he doesn't complain about me. In fact everyday he tells me I'm the best wife, the best mother, he tells me he's so glad he's married to me. He tells me I"m beautiful and he loves my "motherly shape".
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Proverbs 31:28

2) He loves his children. I never have to beg him to spend time with his children. He loves all of them so tenderly. He loves to hang out with them. They are his favorite people in the world.
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children...Malachi 4:6

3) He would rather spend time with his family than anybody else. When given a choice between going to "hang out" or staying at home with us. He prefers to stay at home with us. He enjoys our company.

4) He loves to shop. I will never know the trauma of taking all my littles grocery shopping, clothes shopping, shoe shopping, etc.

5) He loves to cook. I cook for necessity, not for pleasure. He finds enjoyment from cooking.

6) He is a deep cleaner. My house is obviously clean. Meaning the surfaces are clean, dishes put away, laundry done etc. When my husband cleans, he moves the refrigerator, moves the oven, scrubs the walls, shampoos the carpets. He likes to deep clean. I NEVER ask him to do any of these things, he just likes doing them. Of course whenever we see him doing this work, we all pitch in and have some family fun. There is no fun like stripping all the kids down in their underwear and giving them scrub brushes full of soap and water to clean whatever they want. :-)

7) He isn't hard to please. Many nights I'll cook him a wonderful dinner, and he'll eat for politeness sake, but he really just wants a bowl of cereal.

8) He's a Christian. He loves God and is committed to staying a Christian until God takes him home.

9) He is very compassionate. He has taught me soooo much about compassion. When we were first married, I had not an ounce of compassion in me, he has lovingly showed me the way. I love to see how tender-hearted he is with the children.

10) He is funny. We laugh a lot. He jokes, he plays, he's very light-hearted.

11) His attitude is "I will do anything for my family" And he does.

12) He is sacrifical. It is a sacrifice to work 2 jobs. It is a big sacrifice when you choose to keep your wife at home, even thought the whole world and even the church is telling you there's nothing wrong with your wife working. It is a sacrifice to homeschool your children when the whole world and even the church say it is okay to send them to school. My husband sacrifices the extra money "my income" could bring, he sacrifices his time that he could be spending leisurely. He is content living in an apartment, because living in a house would mean I would have to work. He is content to spend all our time together in an apartment, rather than no time together in a big house.

13) He is romantic. In every since of the word. I have to learn to appreciate it more. And I'm taking up a project this year to learn how to be more romantic.

14) He is a SINGER. He is a great singer, and he gave up his dream of stardom for a normal life with his family.

It is true I love him much more than I did when I first married him. And it's not because of the things that he does, but it is because of the person he is. Happy Valentines Day Honey!
