Week in Review 6 2012

By Heart of Wisdom Academy - Sunday, October 21, 2012

Each week we attend our homeschool co-op where more than 100 children participate. There is a fall semester, winter semester, and spring semester. The homeschool co-op is truly invaluable to me. I learn so much from veteran homeschool moms, I get encouragement, help, and fellowship. Each mom teaches a class and helps in another class. I am helping teach in an election class this semester. I have learned a lot! To say that I knew nothing about politics would have been a gross understatement. A lot of what I learn in the class I come home and teach my children, so this week we talked a lot about the elections and watched partof the Presidential Debate and some of the commentary that followed. We spent this week really learning about the electoral college and the difference between the electoral vote and the popular vote. Kyle played with an interactive map here, where he was able to see how you need 270 to win.

My wonderful mom still comes over and helps tutor the kids. She is teaching each of them to cook and they really enjoy that!
