I love 3 year old preschoolers!!! He is so cute and confident. He is so proud of himself, because he's a big boy. He loves learning and thinks he can do anything.
Pre-reading is a very important part of learning to read. These sight-word books are from Hubbards Cupboard. I keep a link directly on my desktop because Kaden, Peyton, and Kason read it daily. Pre-reading skills involve memorization. Although I teach explicit phonics, sight words must be drilled and memorized; they can't be sounded out because they are not phonetically based. So he is not learning to "sound out" these words, he is memorizing them, which is what I want. In order to read fluently children must have a good sight word base. Repetition is the mother of skill!!!!
