Learn and Master Guitar

Our homeschool co-op bought the homeschool edition of Gibson's Learn and Master Guitar with Steve Krenz. I am "teaching" about 15 middle and high schoolers. Really, Steve Krenz is teaching and we're all learning; I know enough to help them, and I just stay at least a week ahead. This week we're learning to read music. I don't know how to read music, I learned "Every Good Boy Does Fine" in first grade, and have never seen it again. So I am trying to research engaging ways to get these kids to learn their lines and spaces. Thank God for the internet. I found games that we can play in class tomorrow. As well as a couple of interactive games that they can play during the week.

I look forward to doing a review of this item. I do really like it. I will say it is for the student serious about learning and mastering guitar. It is not for the student who is thinking about maybe dabbling in guitar, learning to play a few songs here and there. (majority of the class) This course is really for the older student who is driven, disciplined, and intent on not just learning, but truly mastering the guitar. I'm glad that I started off with the Worship Guitar Class, because she has you playing songs the very first lesson, and you never learn music theory. (There are pros and cons to that) At any rate, I'll be familiar with both programs soon enough and able to write a better review and comparison of the two.
