I remember reading about homeschool co'ops back when Kyle was a baby and I was researching homeschooling. I was in awe that such a thing existed, and was sure there was nothing like that in my area.
But I was wrong, there are several co-ops in our area and we've been in our current co op for the last 6 or 7 years. I love it! I love the co op, I love the classes, I love the women there.
Some classes are just more fun to teach in a group! This spring term I'm teaching a human body class for first and second graders. The twins are in my class, but everything we do in class, we come home and do for the rest of the kids. All of these ideas came from pinterest.
The Skeleton
Building skeletons
Assembling a skeleton
Making a model of the hand. Popsicle sticks are inside representing the phalanges.
It feels real! Gloves, filled with 1/2 cup of flour and popsicle sticks in each finger
Yes, little ones play in flour!
It really does feel real!
